Summer Camp 2008

Early this morning, my Mom left and didn't come back so I guess I'm staying at my grandparent's house for a little while. I'm not sure what the deal is with that but I can tell you that I intend to spend most of my time in the pool. I like to think of this as sort of like summer camp. In fact, I've already had some great swim time with my grandparents. The only problem is that they got tired of throwing my frisbee into the pool. But don't worry about me! I figured out how to throw it in myself. It's easy. I just place the frisbee at the edge and then nudge it with my nose until it falls in. Then, I run around to the steps, jump in the water, and swim to retrieve the frisbee. So much fun! Who needs humans?
OK, well maybe I do need them. Especially when it comes to food. Grandmom made me some really good sweetpotatoes for lunch today.
This is turning out to be the best summer camp ever!
Well, I'm gonna be busy with other summer camp activities so I probably won't get to post for the next few days. I'll try to post something at the end of the week.

What State am I in?

I had a really nice walk this morning with Uncle Blake, Trixie and Oreo. Then after breakfast, Mom loaded me up in the car. Man, that thing was packed with tons of stuff. A lot of it was mine. I'm not sure what that means but where ever we're headed, I know I'll have plenty of food, toys and my fan! :)

I saw Mom and Dad hug and then Mom jumped in the driver's seat and away we went. I guess Dad will stay home for this errand. Well, it turned out not to be an errand at all. We were in the car the whole day!!! Although, I slept through most of it. I got tired watching the cows and corn fly by and I was snoozing before I knew what hit me. It's not really my fault anyway. I had not one, but two of my beds to nest on including my blankie and Michigan sweatshirt. Oh so comfy! Well, when I woke up, we were at Grandmom and Grandpop's house. And guess what! They have a pool. I've already been swimming. Mom taught me where the big steps are so now I know how to enter and exit the pool without having much trouble. That's good because my hip is still kinda sore.

Well, I'm exhausted. I worked really hard today keeping Mom company while she did all the driving. Time for bed.

Going Away Party?

Well, the boxes have really started piling up in my house and I can barely find my favorite toys among the chaos. What the heck is going on? I had no idea until after dinner today when my mom told me that we were headed to the pond for my "going away party". Going away? Where? Are my friends going away too? What the heck is going on?!!!!! Sigh, well, what can I do? I'm a dog. And as most of you who know me will say, I'm a mellow dog. Honestly, I'm happy to go with the flow. I just wish I knew where my duck was.....

Anyway, here are some pictures of me and my Barclay Park friends. Boy am I going to miss them (and their humans too). I really hope we get to see each other again someday.
Here we are trying to get a group shot. You can see that it took some effort to get all the humans lined up just right. Once we got them in position, they just continued to look down. Look at the camera for crying out loud!

Finally, they're lookin' at the lens!

That's my good friend, Rooney (I think that's Trixie on the right). I taught Rooney how to jump into the water fountain. But, I never managed to teach him how to pee (he still pee's like a girl)

This is cute, little Peggy (and her human, Marina). Peggy's like my little sister.

And this is one of my closest friends, Trooper. She's the tomboy of the neighborhood. I've even seen her pee like a boy. What a great gal! Trooper taught me how to swim in the swamp shortly after I arrived in BP and we've been great friends ever since.

Best Friends Forever!

Sophie is another really close friend. She sensed that I was shy and hesitant when I first arrived in BP but she never gave up on me. Almost every morning she would try to get me to play until finally, one day, we had a really great romp around the playground. I'll always remember her for that.

This is my Uncle Blake. He took care of me when my parents went away someplace.
He's the best!

You can see it in my eyes...I'm really gonna miss my friends at BP.
